The structure is not only reminiscent of the woven structure of a basket, it also replicates it one-to-one. Using the vacuum deep-drawing process, a basket weave is moulded and used as a model for the mould casting. The individual work of the basket weaver is therefore not only visible in the original, but also in the ceramic result. By bringing together two traditional crafts, a new product is created that combines both the fine craftsmanship of the weaver and the water and heat resistance of the ceramic. Why smooth and even when there is another way? The product was designed with the focus on being able to be manufactured in workshops for disabled people. In this way, Merge can be produced regionally and connects not only craftsmanship but also people.
