"design as democracy - balancing theory and practice" is a theoretical examination of the term "design as democracy". The work enters into the discussion about the concepts of democracy and design. Instead of attempting to create a model for "design as democracy", this study rather demonstrates the field of tension in which its realisation is situated. It formulates the idea of democracy as design, which encourages designers to reflect on design processes, enter into conflict and question design decisions. The work does not offer a solution, but it encourages the idea of a continuous process that situates design, today and in the future, where it is effective: In the society. The work was presented as an interactive exhibition.
Awards: In 2024, the work was exhibited at the Museum of Applied Art in Frankfurt am Main as part of the ‘Dare to Design’ exhibition organised by German Design Graduates and the German Design Council.

The work was displayed as part of various exhibitions. This gave rise to a variety of content that captured the thoughts of visitors and transformed the exhibition into an interactive space for exchange and a snapshot of our society.
